BYD has been a global market leader in rechargeable batteries since 2000. The manufacturer develops these batteries for a wide range of applications, including stationary storage systems, electric mobility, and mobile phones. In fact, BYD electric buses are already in operation in ten European cities, including Bonn, Münster, and London. Production of the e-buses takes place in Europe. Improvements
The latest generation of BYD storage systems comes with a range of improvements, including reduced weight, a slimmer design, and a higher power density. Thanks to increased energy density, BYD was able to reduce the overall weight by approximately 39% compared to the previous series. For example, 10.2 kWh of storage capacity now weighs just 167 kg, spread across five components. In addition, the installation depth has been reduced by around 8 cm, resulting in a sleeker appearance and saving valuable space.
More Power
You’ll also benefit from increased performance in BYD’s modular lithium iron phosphate (LFP) storage system. Each battery unit now offers a capacity of 2.56 kWh. As is typical for BYD, the charge and discharge power remains high: each battery can deliver its nominal capacity as power (1C rating). A new feature is the LED status indicator on each battery, allowing you to check the system status at a glance.
BYD HVS
The Battery-Box Premium HVS consists of 2 to 5 HVS battery modules connected in series, offering a total capacity of 5.1 to 12.8 kWh. Up to 3 identical HVS towers can be connected in parallel, allowing for a maximum capacity of 38.4 kWh. The system is scalable and can be expanded at any time by adding additional HVS modules or parallel HVS towers.
BYD LVS
In addition to the high-voltage variant, BYD also offers a low-voltage option. With the LVS series, you can connect up to 64 battery modules in parallel, giving you full flexibility and compatibility with leading single- and three-phase inverters. The LVS variant also features powerful backup power and off-grid functionality, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.
